FERAPRO® represents a comprehensive approach to oral iron supplementation. With 5 active ingredients to improve absorption, efficacy, and tolerability, FERAPRO® 30 effectively raises iron levels to help prevent iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia, while being gentle on the gut.
Iron is provided in the ferrous form (Fe2+) from ferrous fumarate, which is more bioavailable than ferric (Fe3+) iron and is required for non-heme iron absorption in the intestine. The absorption and tolerability of the iron in this formula is enhanced by vitamin C and glycine, while the active forms of vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin) and folate (5-MTHF) support the growth and function of healthy red blood cells.
By offering three different strengths: 30mg, 75mg and 150mg of elemental iron per capsule, FERAPRO® allows for individualized dosing to help meet your unique iron needs. FERAPRO® 30 is suitable for the prevention of iron efficiency, while FERAPRO® 75 and 150 are indicated for effective prevention and treatment of iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia.
FERAPRO® is committed to purity, and contains only 1 non-medicinal ingredient: hypromellose, a plant-sourced, long-chain fiber. FERAPRO® is vegan and is soy-free, dairy-free, gluten-free and corn-free. FERAPRO® does not contain unnecessary fillers, binders, preservatives or coloring agents.

Take 1 capsule daily with food or as recommended by a healthcare practitioner. Take a few hours before or after taking other medications.
FERAPRO® should be taken orally with food to lessen gastrointestinal side effects such as nausea, vomiting and abdominal cramping.
Certain foods and beverages, when combined with iron, can reduce its absorption. To ensure you get the full benefit from your iron supplement, avoid the following for at least 1 hour before and 2 hours after taking your iron supplement:
Check with your pharmacist to see if your iron supplement should be spaced apart from other medications you may be taking.
Symptoms of iron deficiency anemia may include fatigue, dizziness, and shortness of breath, pale skin, and hair loss. When treated appropriately with iron supplementation, these symptoms should resolve within 2 to 4 months, although iron therapy may be required for another 4 to 6 months to replenish iron stores.
It is important to ask your healthcare provider for a recommended dose and to have follow-up blood work done to monitor progress.
Store at room temperature 15C to 30C away from heat sources, moisture and direct sunlight.

5 Active Ingredients for improved absorption, tolerability and efficacy
IRON FROM FERROUS FUMARATE
Provides ferrous (Fe2+) iron from ferrous fumarate, which is the form that is required for non-heme iron absorption in the intestine.
VITAMIN C (ASCORBIC ACID)
The enzyme ascorbate ferrireductase (DcytB) uses Vitamin C to enhance non-heme iron bioavailability by 1.5 to 10-fold. The importance of Vitamin C in enhancing iron absorption cannot be understated. That is why FERAPRO® includes a significant amount of Vitamin C, to ensure you get the most out of each dose of iron.
VITAMIN B12 AS METHYLCOBALAMIN
Methylcobalamin, the active form of vitamin B12, is required for proper development of red blood cells (erythropoiesis). Methylcobalamin is used in the metabolic pathway for DNA synthesis, which is essential for the final maturation of the red blood cells. Proper development of red blood cells is critical for carrying hemoglobin and oxygenating cells throughout the body.
FOLATE AS 5-MTHF
5-MTHF, the active form of folic acid, is also required for proper development of red blood cells (erythropoiesis).
*Note: A small but significant percentage of patients may be poor methylators due to the MTHFR gene mutation and cannot efficiently convert folic acid to the biologically active 5-MTHF. Supplying folate already in its biologically active form is especially important, given the prevalence of the MTHFR gene mutation.
GLYCINE
Glycine is an amino acid that forms a chelated complex with iron, increasing its tolerability without hindering absorption.
FERAPRO® has only one non-medicinal ingredient, hypromellose. FERAPRO® is formulated vegan, and is gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, and does not contain preservatives, fillers, binders or dyes.
FERAPRO® should be taken with food to lessen gastrointestinal side effects such as nausea/vomiting and abdominal cramping. Certain foods and beverages when combined with iron can reduce its absorption. To ensure you get the full benefit from your iron supplement, it is best to avoid calcium supplements, calcium/magnesium-containing antacids, dairy products, fiber rich meals, tea/coffee, eggs, and leafy green vegetables for at least 1 hour before and 2 hours after taking your iron supplement.
Be sure to only take the recommended dose of iron. Too much iron can be toxic. If you suspect that you or someone else has taken an overdose of iron – call your doctor, a poison control center, or the nearest hospital emergency room at once. Early signs of iron overdose may not appear for up to 60 minutes or more. Do not delay going to the emergency room while waiting for signs to appear.
